Experimental analysis of direct contact condensation during vertical injection of steam onto a subcooled water pool

Experiments have examined the phenomenon of direct contact condensation when steam is injected vertically into subcooled water pool. The investigation carried out by varying mass flow rate and submergence depth injection pipe in range 10–50 kg/h 1–13 cm, respectively. behavior bubble that appeared at outlet, transient heat transfer coefficient, pressure variation pipe, its associated frequency been analyzed. images captured high-speed camera showed different shapes. overall cycle time evolution has decreased with an increase increased depth. time-averaged coefficient rise drop within shows parabolic slightly influenced due to changes interfacial structures pipe. peak higher rates. fast Fourier transform area larger outlet first lies between 0.5 5 Hz, second 25–30 Hz.
